Hi I'm Jo, I am proud to say I am Tokoroa born and bred. I attended Amisfield School as a little one and have a love for our community and school. I believe education is our future and should ensure that our children can be the best that they can be.

I have five children, two of which have attended Amisfield School, two currently attending Amisfield School and one to start in August. During their time at Amisfield School I have had a strong and positive relationship and involvement with the school. This has included coaching of soccer and netball teams, currently my eldest daughter is coaching an Amisfield School netball team, awesome school excursions, interaction with staff and I have been part of the Amisfield School BOT for six years, currently I am the Chairperson of the Board.

During my time on the Amisfield School Board I have gained knowledge in staff appointments, principal appointments, principal appraisal, disciplinary committee and strategic planning, to name a few. I have enjoyed my time and wish to carry on.

Alongside my husband, I own and manage a Silviculture business. This gives me great management skills and the ability of dealing with a diverse range of personalities and cultures. I believe myself to be very level-headed and have the ability to ask the hard questions, if needed.

They say " It takes a village to raise a child." I love being part of that "village" and being able to give back.

June 2017 saw my husband Jeremy, son Hunter, daughter Olivia and I, move to a dairy farm here in Tokoroa. It also saw Hunter and Olivia start school at Amisfield School, and myself co-opted onto the current Board of Trustees.

Schooling was a key consideration in our decision to move to the area, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to live where we do, and that our children were able to continue their learning journeys at Amisfield School; an amazing school, in an amazing community.

With a background in Accountancy and Dairy Farming, my current role as a Chartered Accountant, brings with it a variety of skills that I think are valuable to the role. I have a particular interest in Governance and Succession, particularly in the Primary Sector.

I believe that pivotal to the success of any good school is a strong, capable Board of Trustees, and it would be my privilege to represent the parents, pupils, staff and community that surrounds Amisfield School. It would be my commitment, to work to ensure Amisfield School continues to be the great place it is to educate our children, and provides them with every opportunity to reach their full potentials, in both curricular and extra-curricular activities.
